Do you have knowledge of Indian music to share — as a performer, teacher, student, researcher or listener? Sangeet Jagat welcomes original articles in Hindi, Marathi or English.
What we publish
- Music theory, ragas and talas, instruments, artists and gharanas, history and treatises, forms and traditions.
- Music education, examinations and careers.
- Music and society, culture and health — health articles must follow our health content standards.
Our requirements
- The article is your own original work, not published elsewhere (including your own blog) unless agreed with us.
- Facts are supported by sources; quotations are short and credited.
- Images are your own, or you have permission to use them, with credit.
- Articles should explain the topic clearly and in depth — usually 700 words or more.
How it works
- Send a short introduction (name, background, the topic you want to write about) to sangeetjagat.bsk@gmail.com.
- If the topic fits, our editors create a contributor account for you.
- You write and submit your article in your account; an editor reviews it and may suggest changes.
- Once approved, the article is published under your name.
Writing for Sangeet Jagat is voluntary and unpaid unless agreed in writing. By submitting an article you accept our Author Agreement.
