We respect the rights of authors, artists, photographers and publishers, and we expect everyone who writes for Sangeet Jagat to do the same. Copyright in India is governed by the Copyright Act, 1957.
Our content
Unless stated otherwise, copyright in articles belongs to their authors and/or Bhartiya Sangeet Kalapith. You may quote short passages with clear credit and a link to the original article. Republishing whole articles, translations or images needs our written permission — write to sangeetjagat.bsk@gmail.com.
Report an infringement
If you believe that material on Sangeet Jagat infringes your copyright, send a notice to our Grievance Officer at sangeetjagat.bsk@gmail.com with:
- your name, postal address, phone number and e-mail address;
- a description of the copyrighted work and evidence that you own it or are authorised to act for the owner;
- the exact web address (URL) of the material on Sangeet Jagat;
- where the original work can be seen, if it is published;
- a statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorised by the owner or by law, and that the information in your notice is accurate.
What we do
- We acknowledge a complete notice within 24 hours.
- Where the notice appears valid, we remove or disable access to the material promptly — normally within 36 hours — while we review it.
- We inform the author of the article, who may respond with evidence of permission or ownership. We decide on the basis of the information provided by both sides and inform you of the outcome.
- Authors who repeatedly publish infringing material lose their author access.
Notices that are knowingly false may have legal consequences. This page does not limit any rights or remedies available under law.
